WAGNER, Bernard Constantine "Bernie" - 66, Middleton, died May 5, 2003, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Victoria Vale, he was a son of the late Elvon and Frances (Greene) Wagner. He was an educator for 33 years, of which 32 years were at Middleton Regional High School as teacher, vice-principal and principal, retiring in 1994. He had a lifelong interest in the Air Cadet Program and was a Commanding Officer of 517 Squadron in 1967. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, active in community affairs with a special interest in hockey, particularly officiating. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren, walking and downhill skiing. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Muir; sons, Stephen (Sally), Saudi Arabia; Brian (Eleanor), Calgary; Greg (Terri), Coldbrook; foster brother, Clarence "Junior" (Pat) Greene, Nictaux; grandchildren, Josh, Cameron, Brittany, Hayley, and step grandchildren, Heather and Sarah. He was predeceased by brother, Roland. Visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. A service celebrating Bernie's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton, Archdeacon Eric MacDonald officiating. Interment in Old Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Middleton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Mid-Valley Palliative Care or a charity of choice.
