Lorie Shannon Ambrose Living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CanadaWell, I've seen this site before and finally decided to put in my info. I am not married like a lot of you, I have no children, but I do have two cats. I am living in Halifax and have seen a couple of people from high school at my place of employment. I currently work as a supervisor for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority at the Halifax International Airport. I really enjoy it. It has definately given me the ability to deal with "pleasant" people as well as meet some pretty famous ones (Paul McCartney, Pam Anderson, Chad Kroeger, etc.) Definately better than high school! Congrats to all with new families.

So I keep seeing this site and decided it was time to add myself in... After graduating from MRHS I spent a year at UNBSJ (which I really enjoyed) while waiting to be accepted into the AHT program at NSAC. I graduated as a AHT(animal health tech)in 2001. Dave and I are still together and are living in Halifax where I am working at Woodbury Animal Hospital full time (love it). In my spare time I take in neglected/abused iguanas and rehabilitate them (I live in a small zoo!) Since I wasn't busy enough, I decided to adopt a second life/ part time job (which I also love) so I have been working with a band here in Halifax, Signal Hill, for 3 years (promotions/web&CD artwork). I've been able to travel over Canada with them, and we even made it to the Dominican last year. So things are going pretty well - I can't complain. If you're ever in Halifax you can find me at my second home, the Lower Deck (or wherever the band is playing that week)!

Other than that, we've enjoyed travelling around Ontario and are looking forward to getting home for visits this spring and summer!
Hope this note finds everyone well - take care :-)

After graduating in 1997 I went to NSCC in Middleton for two years. Then I transferred to Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton, New Brunswick where I graduated in May 2002 with a B.A. in Sociology as well as a certificate in Cross-Cultural Missions. I went to Ghana, Africa in May 2001 and lived in a village with primative African folk as a part of my university certificate programme. I returned to ABU to complete a B.Ed (Elementary Education) as well as a B.A. in Religious Studies and graduated in May 2004.
I went to Buk-Ilsan, Republic of Korea to teach in the fall of 2004. I returned to Canada to substitute teach in the fall of 2005. I even taught at MRHS a few times...that was wierd! I moved to Moncton, NB during the summer of 2006 and worked with children with special needs. In the spring of 2007 I taught at NBCC for a 6 month term and then decided to return to the Republic of Korea to teach at a public elementary school. I've been here for a year now and plan to stay for 2 more years. I still intend to do some sort of mission work in the near future, maybe for a year or so, and then return to Canda to secure a permanent teaching position. Time and life circumstances will tell...Stay tuned!

After grade 12, I went to Mount Allison, where I completed a BA double major in Drama and English in 2001. Currently, I am in my second the BEd program at Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton. While I was at Mt A, I worked a lot with international students, particularly with Japanese students which sparked an interest in me to go overseas and teach English as a second language. Going to Japan is definately something that I foresee for myself in the future, whether this year or not, I do not no, but I have learned over the years to take things one step at a time.

Like everyone who went on to College or University... well I didn't. I lasted 3 months in the Human Services program at NSCC Annapolis Campus and decided thats not what I wanted to do with the rest of my life... (not that I really knew what I wanted to do with my life at that point of time *wink*)
I then moved on and met the father of my 4 year old son. We have a house in Aylesford and a business in Kingston, JC's Hot Tubs and Pools. (So if you ever need a Hot Tub or Pool, look me up ~smile~)
Well I'll let you go and hope to eventually run in to you all again!

Building history in Houston…though not much has changed – got a new lab and named it Schooner…an obvious choice. My wife, Rachel, is enjoying her scholastic endeavors at the University of Houston, along with painting commissioned work on the side. I like it because it keeps a constant change of décor in the flat. My work is going very well and keeps me on my toes…lots of challenges, travel, and I am able to work with bright and talented people. Last years hurricanes/tornadoes promoted a lot of hoop-jumping and quick decisions, but we were relatively unscathed. Had a fairly intense hunt in south texas just before Christmas – shot my first wild bore…filled my freezer. Haven’t been home in a while – will be back in July this year to witness and celebrate my sister’s (Lisa) wedding. I hope to see some of those that have managed to stay in the valley. Still want to move back to NS before growing any real roots…been a few places and haven’t seen anything yet that compares.

My life has been filled with changes lately so I thought I should update.
I got married on Oct. 8 in Antigonish. It was a wonderful day except for the crazy amount of rain that fell. We didn't let that ruin the party though and it was a lot of fun.
When we got back to Calgary I finally finished my M.Sc. I defended right before Christmas so the holidays were very relaxing. It is great to have that all done and I have definately had enough of school.
With school finished I started looking for a job which is always a challenge. I recently accepted a position with an engineering firm in the wind industry. Quite a change from biomedical but I am really excited and looking forward to starting.
Hope this finds the grads of '97 well! Be sure to look me up if you are ever in Calgary.

Greetings, fellow Facebook holdouts! I trust all has been well with you this past year.
I'm scouring through the bowels of my memory to bring to the surface all the exciting things that have happened to me since I last posted, but I think of the past year and instead I see a lot of routine. Not that routine is bad, but it's not exactly bestseller material, either. It's funny how we leave our families when we're young, excited about the prospect of breaking the chains of routine, and then later in life we realize that our lives would be upside-down without it.
About life: Our eldest daughter, Jaime, is almost 3 years old now, and she certainly makes life interesting. A true socialite, she never turns down an opportunity to put in her two cents and when she is not talking, she's singing.
Our youngest daughter, Jessalyn, is a living parable: Nothing good in life comes easily. She's a bit of a bear, and sometimes she tries our patience. But we love her, and she's funny too so that helps to take some of the edge off. :o)
We're expecting another one in April. That will make 3 kids in 3 calendar years, and I'm sure that if I were in Karilyn's position, I'd probably instead choose the electric chair. But anyway, she's excited about the prospect of another, and so am I.
My job is going as well as can be expected. Still with the same company I have been with since I returned to NS. I'm in my eighth year now with them, and I still like what I do.
...and that's all I've got - life is simple and good and hard. I'm glad to see so many of us seem to be finding our way.
Take care!

It is a little weird knowing that it has been ten years since we all graduated. Life has a weird way of flipping on us all. Jeff Dowell and I have been married for seven years now and have a six year old boy. Once he was born it was like nothing else mattered. I love my job as a legal assistant but it is the home time that is really satisfying. All the years I spent in figureskating and now I am at the rink 6 times a week watching Robbie play hockey, taking him jogging at the Rotary Park or to ball hockey. (He's been obsessed with hockey since he was 2). He also manages to fit soccer in there somewhere! I hope everyone is living life to the fullest and having a great time doing it! Afterall, we only get a little time to enjoy it. Best wishes!

Wow!! I was just playing around on the computer and found this site. It has been really good seeing what everybody has been up to. Congratulations to those of you who have married and/or started a family and also to those of you who have achieved your goals.
Formalities out of the way, we can get to the good stuff.....ME :)
After high school I went to STFX and completed a B.A., then it was on to Maine to complete my B.E.D. While I was there I was presented with the most wonderful opportunity to find permanent residency outside of Canada and teach. I know you are all thinking overseas, but no. Me, I decided that California would be where I would explore. So I moved out here and set up in a city with the most ironic name...Ontario. It is about 35-40min outside of LA. Things are alot different here, but I got used to it and decided I would have to stick around for a while. I have now lived here going on 5 years and have been teaching in the same school district. Grade 1 for a few years and currently grade 3 (wich I love, way more independent).
Anyway if you ever want to see the sites hit me up.

Well, I didn't graduate from MRHS, due to an unscheduled move. lol I got married in 1999. My husband is in the forces so we have moved quite a bit over the years. We are currently living just outside Fredericton at the moment with our 2 beautiful children.
That's all for now.
Take care

Daniel MacLeod Living in Moncton, New Brunswick, CanadaWhere is my picture?
After High school I continued my hockey career. I went to SMU and University de Moncton to study commerce and french. I currently have one year left at NBCC Moncton before I recieve my accounting diploma. I have been living in Moncton for the past 3 years and I plan to die here. Two days ago, I engaged my girl friend, Tracy, but we did not set a date yet. I'm presently working for the Federal Gov't durring the summer and I continue to play hockey in Quebec durring the winter. That's all that is really new with me. If anyone is in Moncton feel free to call, I may not be home because I'm a busy guy!
Later!

Janice Meisner Now Janice Jessome Living in Washington, DC, USA jcjessome at hotmail dot com
Well, we've been in Washington for a year, and it's been fabulous. It's crazy how different it is, even though we're only a day's drive to Canada.. Oh well, you've just gotta roll with it.
One thing's for sure, there's no place like home.

Louise St.Germain Living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada louise_stg at canada dot com
I didn't actually graduate from MRHS, as we got posted to Ottawa in 1996, but I graduated from high school in 1998 (stupid OAC/grade 13...) I went to Carleton University to do a B.Eng in electrical engineering, and graduated in June 2003. At least I know really really well what I *don't* want to do for the rest of my life! Now I'm out in BC doing an MSc in mechanical engineering, working on hydrogen fuel cells. Hopefully this will be more interesting!
