Hello class of '82
After leaving MRHS I bummed around for a year doing odd jobs and wondering what I was going to do with my life. I finally decided to give vocational school a try and enrolled in the machinist course. As the two year course came to an end I applied for an apprenticeship at HMC Dockyard in Halifax and was accepted in the Mechanical Fitters shop. After a three year apprenticeship I received my Mechanical Fitter and Industrial Mechanic papers and have been working on compressors, pumps, gear boxes and just about anything else mechanical on the Canadian Navy's ships and submarines ever since.
I'll soon be marrying Bonnie, who I met at work a couple of years ago, and will be adopting her daughter, Toni.

Hello Everyone!
UPDATE: Deanna and I ended our marriage in the summer of 2007. It was a bit of a shock for me at first, but in the end I suppose it's all for the best. We remain friends.
I'm currently living in Zagreb, Croatia, where I am collaborating with a group of artists creating some interesting multimedia work. I plan to return to Halifax in August of 2008, but my life is difficult to predict with any accuracy these days!
I spent an amazing Christmas holiday with my sweetheart (she lives in Halifax) in Split (on the Coast of Croatia) and in a little town in Austria called Hallstatt (about 1.5 hours from Salzburg).
I hope 2008 will be a fantastic year for you all!
Ancient History:
After Graduation I spent a few months at the Nova Scotia Collage of Art and Design, and two years in a Graphic Design course. I don't know if I learned much, but I sure had fun.
I moved to Calgary, for awhile (who hasn't?) but eventually ended up living in Halifax.
Deanna and I got married in 1990 (no kidds). I worked for a couple of different screen printing shops while I slowly built up a freelance clientèle.
For several years I worked full-time as a freelance cartoonist, illustrator, and web designer. I have created animated cartoons for the internet and television. My animation work took us to Europe a couple of times (France and two amazing trips to Croatia) and has been featured in festivals, galleries, and on TV all over the world. It's been truly amazing.
My mom (aka Mrs. Beals, Grade 8 English) still lives in Middleton.
I am always curious about what you have all been up to over the years and I am really pleased with how this Web site has grown since I handed the reigns over to Sharlene.
Drop me a line.

I can't believe that it has been 25 years since we graduated from MRHS. Where has the time gone...I recently got in touch with Shelly and she reminded me about Edgar's site. I've been married to Paul for the past 18 years. We have 2 children...our daughter just turned 16 and our son will be 14 soon. I've worked at SMH for the past 23 years as an LPN.

Dina L. Cummings, Now Dina L. Glover Living in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Canada macbeths at ns dot sympatico dot ca
My name is now Dina Glover and I reside in Greenwood, NS with my husband Jim and three wonderful children.
After I left high school I ventured down the road to vocational school to become a secretary (boring), finished that and went to Halifax to find a job. Landed a job asking people if they would like fries with that Big Mac, but hey, it was a guaranteed meal each day and you gotta love that! From there I tried my hand at sales in the vacuum cleaner department (guaranteed huge income and all) and didn't really enjoy begging people to let me into their homes so that I could prove to them that their homes were dirty just to have them kick me out in disgust. Back to the valley I came to fall back on good old figure skating and taught professionally for two years but you actually need a vehicle that will run and has a floor in it to drive from one end of the valley to the other. Moved on to convenience store clerking from there. Enjoyed this job and the people I served and worked with, but it didn't pay the bills too well, so I worked part time at a doctor's office (there are my secretarial skills, vocational school wasn't a total waste of time) at the same time. From there I moved on to the field of real estate (ouch). Too dog-eat-dog for me! Lasted about 18 months. I then became a caregiver for my children and others out of my home ( then in Wilmot) .
In 1992 we purchased our own home based business (see web link below) and have been building that ever since. It has been an adventurous 20 years with a lot of education outside of four brick walls!

Patricia June MacDonald Now Patricia June Bruce Living in Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada trish dot bruce at ns dot sympatico dot ca
After graduating from high school and the comunity college, where I took business, I went to Halifax and took Travel and Tourism at another college. After graduating there I worked at Uniglobe Travel in Kentville. I liked to travel but I didn't like the selling part of it, so I ended up with my own business, back in Middleton.
I married John Bruce in 1988 (13 years ago), and we have three kids Katie (12), Beckie (10), and Robert (8). We have a farm outside of Middleton. It is mainly a beef farm, but we have a little bit of everything there. If you drive by you will see my rock wall, and behind it my newest babies, my Scottish highland cows. If I can't be in Scotland, I hope to move some of it to the valley. After visiting England, Wales and Scotland with my Mother, and sister Lisa five years ago I got inspired to rock wall build.
Next year it will be 20 years since we graduated, it would be nice to get something going here in Middleton, and celebrate. Last summer at the MRHS 50th we had fun, but there weren't all that many from any one year.
Bye for now.

Hi there,
I graduated in June,1982. From then I took a French course at Universite Sainte Anne in prep for applying for the RCMP. Well that fell through so I took a 2yr electronics course at NSCC (1983-1985). work prospects were not the best so in 1986 I joined the Canadian Armed Forces.
I got married in 1988, had 2 kids, got separated in 2003 and was divorced in October 2008. I put in 20 yrs in the Armed Forces, got out in 2006 and went to work for a flight simulator company operating on the CFB Greenwood base in December 2006. I met a new girl and we have been together since April 2006. We got engaged on Christmas Day 2008 and are very happy.
No wedding plans yet though since she is not divorce yet.
Well thats about it for me. If anyone would like to get in touch send me a note on my e-mail and I'll try my best to write back ASAP.

I can't believe it is soon-to-be twenty years since we left MRHS.
A lot of water has gone under the bridge, so I'm just going to give you the short version for now.
I am currently working as a teaching assistant, and living with Rob Grant (class of '86). We've been in B.C. for almost six years, first in Gold River (3 years) and now in Duncan. We bought a house last year - no children - a dog (Tess) and a cat (Sahara).

Hey everyone!
Here's a update on me so far...Still working at Barrett's Farm & Family Centre going on 5 years now, still singing with Robyn Scott occasionally and now I am involved with an Elvis band called Michael John and the Hound Dogs as a back up vocalist. Lots of fun.
I went to the World's Dragon Boat competition in Penang, Malaysia this summer with the senior womens crew I am a part of. We did great! We won Gold in the 2000m, and bronze in both the 200m and the 500m races. What an amazing experience!
I celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary with my husband Don this fall. My son Colin just entered high school this fall as well. I hope his high school memories will be as wonderful as mine.
I am on Facebook now, so I hope to see some of my grad friends there.

After graduating from MRHS, went to Acadia U, obtaining a BBA Acctg. I applied for the Forces in the final months, but didn't hear back until later in the Fall of '86. In the interim, was in a management program with Woolworth Department stores, but when I learned that I was the third highest paid employee in the store after two months working there (A/GM and GM were the only ones higher), leaped at the chance to join up when it was offered. Since becoming "all I can be", I have been posted to Greenwood, Trenton, Ottawa, Yellowknife, Kingston ON and am now in Moose Jaw as the Wing Comptroller. Mixed in with the postings to those boring places, I have enjoyed six months in Croatia, performed mission closing inspections in Haiti and Kuwait, as well as a Board of Inquiry in the Golan Heights, and am currently spending seven months in Kandahar, Afghanistan as part of the NATO Base's Headquarters staff.
Thanks to Edgar for creating the website, Sharlene for maintaining it and Bonnie for telling me about it. Hope to hear from anyone who wishes to catch-up on 25 years of knowing nothing about fellow MRHSers.

Hi! I went to MRHS from 1977-1980, then moved to Horton High and graduated in 1982, but I remember my years in Middleton very well. I have loved reading the life stories of my former classmates, and especially love the photos! My story? Well life led me to Acadia, then to working in France, then to travelling, then to Australia where I live now. I am married with 3 children, Madeline, Isabel and Oscar. I teach French at the local primary school, and write curriculum for South Australia. My twin sister Janet also lives nearby with her family. It is beautiful here, but I do miss Nova Scotia so!

Remember me? The shy thing sitting in the back row. Left MRHS for Middleton Regional Vocational school where I managed to do both (graduate High School grade 12 & complete the Business Ed Diploma Course). Met and married Mike in Feb'84 (met & married in under 3 months). He went on to join the Forces, we've moved 17 times in the last 21 years - we've been married 21 years as today (Feb 17'05) and now have TEN wonderful kids. Yes, 10! Krystyna (20), Jon (18), Shayne (16), Kyle (14), Luc (11), Scott (9), Jaymilee (7), Maxx (5), Myles (3) and Emyleigh (8months). Also managed to squeeze in there a Veterinary Assistant diploma, a Registered Practical Nursing diploma and have been a Doula (Labour Birthing Coach) since '98. Now we're getting ready to start our own Llama / Bashkir Curly farm. Miss all my classmates.

Lynn Celine Thompson Now Lynn Celine Croft Living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada lynnceline at yahoo dot ca
Hi. I started MRHS in grade 8 in 1977 and stayed until grade 11 in 1981. I ended up leaving home and graduated from West Kings in 1982 but I always considered MRHS to be my high school. I married in 1986 but after 13 1/2 years decided it was time to move on - no children, just a dog. I worked in Wades, first in Greenwood and then Middleton for 17 years. I was desperate for a change when I was offered a job writing software requirements for a POS (Point-of-Sale) software company in Dartmouth 5 1/2 years ago. It was an alright job but I didn't love it. The company had a massive layoff and, luckily, I was one of the ones to go. I enjoyed some time off for several months and then was offered a job at another POS software company on the same street in Dartmouth. I am the testing department :). 2 1/2 years ago I was set up on a blind date with a great guy and we're still going strong. He has 2 great little boys and I still have my dog. We spend a lot of time at his camp and both love the outdoors and physical activity. Every few months or so I drive back to the Valley to catch up - my family is still there and my closest friends. This site is great. It's funny because there are always people that you think 'I wonder what ever happened to...' and now I actually know what happened to a couple of them. It's amazing how quickly 23 years has gone. I don't know about the rest of you but I sure don't feel 41!
