After Middleton, I went on to Acadia and then Queen's University. I met my wife, Dawn, at Acadia and we have since had three kids: Chris, Stephie, and Ben whom are 19, 15, and 13 respectively. After Queen's I spent three years with Sobey's and then went on to join Lafarge in 1988 at a cement plant in Ontario as their HR Manager. We then moved on to the UK for two years to help with a Lafarge-Redland joint-venture (near Bristol) and then moved again to Lyon, France where I looked after the training needs of our global cement division. It was a great job and allowed me to travel across several continents and meet many people.
I moved back to Canada via Montreal looking after Human Resources for the Canadian Cement Division before moving to Virginia in 2002 to head up HR for the North American cement division of Lafarge.

Hmmm ....... interesting to see some old faces on these pages - a nice trip down memory lane for those of us not too jaded to enjoy a glimpse of the past.
I spent about 15 years in the Halifax and South Shore areas working as a chef - being paid mostly in raw meat and stale beer.
I'm currently working in cost control for a Halifax food and beverage company - they pay me in foie gras and cheap wine, no complaints thus far.
I have three great kids, Matt (25), Zack (20) and Luke (17 - who is very close pals with Kevin Warners' daughter Carmen :) ).
I have recently been remarried to a lovely gal from Dartmouth - a very happy couple, we are!
I would happily respond to anyone who cares to drop a line.
Cheers!

After graduation, I took a Heavy Equipment Repair course at KRVS in Kentville, then a couple of years later I took my Machinist's Apprenticeship course there as well. I left NS in 1984, heading for BC, but was sidetracked in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where I've been for the last 15 years, give or take a few, with brief stints in Vancouver, BC, and Edmonton.
After trying my hands at a variety of jobs, I became a bartender and have been doing that since 1987.

Hi all,
I just got introduced to this site by Debra McAdam when I found her on facebook (a great site by the way)
Where to start... 1980 graduated from MRHS, 1983 graduated from NSTC in Truro. I taught at a private church school in Middleton in 1984 and then moved to Truro in the summer of '84 where I got married in 1985 and have lived there ever since.
I have two teenagers, Josie is 18 and Duncan is 15.
I am currently working at Walmart as a photo lab technician and I love it.
If you are ever driving through Truro, drop in and see me at the Walmart photo centre.
I come home to Middleton frequently as my Mom and Dad are living in Nictaux.
Hope to hear and see from you grads of 1980.
It was the best of times....
Check out my profile and pics on facebook.

Hi everyone! After MRHS I worked in the area for about a year and then moved to Yellowknife where I worked for 2 years and saved enough money to start University. Went to the U of S and earned a Degree in Arts and Science in the area of Archaeology and Physical Anthropology. During that time I met and married my husband, a farmer, and we've been farming since, grain only, no animals. Had 2 kids, Jen (16) and Jason (13). Then I decided to do something about my mid life crisis so I went back to the U of S and earned my BSc in Nursing and have been working in Long Term Care locally since 2004. Kids are close to flying the coop and we are looking forward to travel and perhaps some volunteer work in the future. I'd love to hear from anyone, drop me a line!

Since my last and only submission, I have been posted to Petawawa, Borden and now Toronto. I am still a Chaplain but am currently in school. I wish I enjoyed reading and writing as much at MRHS as I do now. Perhaps spell-check would have made it less onerous back then.
I married a South Shore girl, Lorraine, in 1987 and she remains a lot of fun. I remain her tormentor. We have a daughter, Adrienne, who is now attending Dalhousie.
We have a cottage north of Liverpool and I think it would be great to see how everybody has fared at the reunion. If I have my wits about me, I will ask my iPhone to remind me.

Hi everyone.
I can`t believe that it has been 20 years. Where has it gone? After an interesting, but less than stellar year at Acadia [`80-81], I joined the local ranks of the seldom employed. In 1982 I was invited out here to B.C. for a family visit. Sometime during my Christmas-day tennis match I decided that this place quite agreed with me. With a bit of persistence, and a bit of luck, I was able to land a job at the pulp mill here in Port Alice. As fate would have it [Mr.Shaffner are you sitting? ] I ended up as a laboratory worker in the bleaching area of the plant. I`ve been here for 17 years now and share my home with, quite possibly, the world`s ugliest cat, Todd.
I am looking forward to coming home this summer to see you all and get a belly-full of strawberries [yes in that order].
Bye for now,
Jeff Veinot
P.S. Scott, I`m going to have to ask you for a couple of strokes a side.

I spent two years at Acadia and another two at TUNS before graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. Then on to Stanford University in California for a masters and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for a PhD graduating in 1989. The same year I married a Pittsburgh girl and started work with Alcoa Inc., aka the Aluminum Company of America. I am presently a researcher in product design and development.
My wife, Tenley, and I have two daughters, Maddie (9) and Lydia (6). I spend all my spare time and money at the ice rink watching them become accomplished figure skaters. We all enjoy annual summer vacations to the Valley where we like to stay at Mountain Top Cottages in Parkers Cove.

Hi Fellow Middleton Friends (1966-1976),
I thought I'd update my info as it is out of date. Still living in Halifax and working at Dalhousie U. (Admin Computing) supporting web systems for the past 5 years (previously worked at IMP Group for 12 years, DMR 4 years and contract work for 2 years, Graduated from Acadia with Comp Sci in 1984).
My husband Ken Rhodenizer (Dentist in Halifax) and I have 2 boys Jonathan 8 and Andrew 4. We are busy with work, sports and kid stuff but life if good. I enjoy checking the MRHS site for updates from time to time, so it would be nice if more of you would contribute! Just add your email if nothing else.
I don't get to Middleton much, but I think of it often. I have lots of wonderful memories of growing up in the Heart of the Valley. Love to hear from you.
Cheers, JoAnn
