Robert Allen Balch Living in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada shirley_stewart at telus dot net
Robert (Bob) was my dad. After high school he attended Mount Allison University for a couple of years. He worked in Annapolis Royal where he met my mom Pat. He had three children, my brothers Donald Reagh (who now lives in Aylesford), Stephen (who died in infancy) and me (I now live in BC).
During Bob's career he worked for Trans Canada Credit, Hostess Foods, ACA Co-op and dabbled at real estate. Sadly he passed away in 1992 after a short but brave fight with cancer.

I graduated in 1957 and began work that summer at MT&T. I worked in a number of places during the next 37 years but 31 of those were in the Halifax-Dartmouth area. While living in the city I attended SMU for several semesters as a mature studend. I moved to Cape Breton n 1996 and am retired except for my own little company where I do various things. I have one son who is living in Alberta, one gandson and two granddaughters and one great-grandson and two great-granddaughters. I keep busy being active in the community and my church.

Its great to hear that another school reunion is being planned. I have attended each of the School reunions since graduating from MRHS and have enjoyed each reunion very much and look forward to the attending the next reunion.
Following graduation, I joined the Federal Dept of Transport as a meteorological technician where I had the opportunity to see most of Canada including all of Arctic Canada mostly from the air. I spent two summers in Resolute Bay, three summers in Frobisher Bay (now called Iqaluit) and one summer in Churchill.
Following 10 years in meteorology, I changed careers and became an accountant and graduated as a Certified Management Accountant in 1971. I have spent the rest of my career working in Finance. As a professional Accountant, I worked at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish (1970 1973) and Ontario Hydro in Toronto (1973 2000). Since retirement, I have worked part time as a Financial Consultant.
I married Eileen McKearney (born and grew up in PEI but whom I met in Toronto) in 1962. We have a son and a daughter. Both live in Toronto. Both have successful professional careers our son in computers as a financial systems analyst and our daughter as a Chartered Accountant.
We visit Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island every year as Eileen and I still have family there. One of my bothers lives in Middleton (Ralph) and one in Paradise (Lloyd).
